Events Date#317

If a user wants a month and day to be shown as an overlay to the Event image, force the Events blocks to require a date metafield as the source for th data shown in the badge. This would remove the dangerous requirement for a shop owner who might have the techical skills of a ferret from entering the customization area to poke around the Events blocks to facilitate this.

Hi there, unfortunately Shopify doesn’t have the option to force a metafield as a setting value. Shopify also further doesn’t have a ‘date’ setting type for the themes to use, which means if we used a metafield-compatible field it would be even worse in terms of accidental entry!

So for today, this suggestion will be closed as it’s not actionable, but should Shopify provide more options to themes regarding this you can guarantee we have our eye on it :).
