Product badges: Ability to add a custom links to product badges (customized links)#393

?

I would like to suggest an enhancement for product badges within the theme. Currently, product badges (e.g., “New Arrival,” “On Sale,” “Sustainable,” “Limited Offer”) are primarily visual indicators. I propose adding functionality to make these badges clickable, allowing them to serve as direct navigation links to relevant landing pages.

Rationale and Examples:

Improved User Experience: This feature would significantly improve user navigation by allowing customers to quickly explore products or information related to a specific badge.
Enhanced Marketing Opportunities: It would enable merchants to drive traffic to curated collections (e.g., all “New Arrivals”), special promotions (e.g., “Buy 2 for $80” collection), or detailed information pages (e.g., “Sustainable Materials” page).
Desired Functionality:

Configurable Link Destination: For each product badge type, theme users should be able to specify a custom URL. This could be a collection page, a specific product page, a static information page, or even an external link.
Dynamic vs. Static Badges: The ability to apply this to both static badges (e.g., manually added “New”) and dynamic badges (e.g., “On Sale” based on price comparison) would be beneficial.
Backend Interface: An intuitive interface within the theme customization options where merchants can easily manage existing badges and assign their respective link destinations.
Inspiration/Reference:

Universal Store (www.universalstore.com): This website effectively uses clickable product badges. For instance:
Clicking on their “NEW” badge takes users to their latest arrivals collection.
Their “2 for $80” badge links to a specific collection of products eligible for that promotion.
The “PREFERRED FIBRES” badge directs users to an information page detailing their material sourcing.
Implementing this feature would add significant value to the theme, offering greater flexibility and a more engaging shopping experience for customers.
